International recording artist Ryan Follese will headline Yachtstock RiverJam June 30th. Follese is an exciting addition to the 20th Annual RiverJam held on the banks of the scenic Delaware just south of Philadelphia in Essington, PA.
Yachtstock President George Spicer stated, "Ryan Follese is a major talent who toured the world with his modern rock band, Hot Chelle Rae, and has a promising solo career as a country artist. Ryan is a perfect fit for our fans and we are honored to have him grace the Yachtstock RiverJam stage."
Ryan Follese comes from Nashville songwriter royality. His parents are well known songwriters who have have written for top country acts, including Tim McGraw, and Lady Antebellum. From early childhood Follese felt that songwriting was his destiny. Ryan got his chance when he formed modern rock band Hot Chelle Rae with Nashville friends and penned the catchy single "Tonight, Tonight." The song launched the band to stardom, with an Adult Top 40 quadruple platinum #1 single, and international appearances. Follese and Hot Chelle Rae were all over the radio and enjoying high profile gigs, touring the world with Taylor Swift, and earned a coveted spot on Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve. Hot Chelle Rae charted additional songs and Follese was a successful front-man, yet he still felt "like something was missing."
Ryan began writing songs for a solo project and noted "they all came out country." But when Ryan's mom was diagnosed with cancer Ryan headed home from L.A. and contemplated putting his solo effort on hold. In a Billboard intervew Follese explains that his mom had other plans, saying she pointedly asked him, "Are we going to write your record or not?" Follese added, "When your mom is going through chemo and she's badass enough to be like, 'Are we going to do this?,' it really kicks your ass into gear and puts things into perspective." The resulting record was a family affair that proudly displays classic country roots alongside Follese's finely tuned knack for clever word play and catchy choruses you instantly want to turn up and sing along. The self-titled solo debut has already hit the Country charts with the soaring "Put a Label On It" and features a welcome mix of country pop and modern rock elements, like the bluesy feel good summer anthem, "Float Your Boat."
Follese's modern rock background and country roots fit the bill perfectly for Yachtstock RiverJam, and Follese's "Float Your Boat" would be a suitable anthem for it. With over 20 bands on three stages Yachtstock has music for everyone, from rock to pop to world music, but the top of the bill also includes two fine emerging country acts with special guests Sara Spicer and Lee Gantt. Local Country Radio station giant 92.5 XTU is partnering with Yachtstock delivering a marketing package that includes a generous series of radio ads, social promotion, and ticket processing support through parent company Entercom's "Events Plus."
Proceeds from the event will benefit local Delaware County families and Shriners Hospitals for Children - Philadelphia. With 20+ bands, Car Show, fun for all ages, food and merch vendors and Tinicum Township 4th of July Fireworks, this is a charity event where you can do good and have fun doing it.
